25th IAEA Fusion Energy Conference (FEC 2014)

The 2014 edition of the Fusion Energy Conference (FEC) is about to take place in the setting of Saint Petersburg, Russia. This conference is organized by the International Atomic Energy Agency every two years in cooperation with the local institutions. The objective of the FEC is to bring fusion scientists together to share their most recent results and serve as a platform for discussions on the various options for a streamlined approach towards the first demonstration fusion power plant.

In this second FEC meeting in Russia after Novosibirsk in 1968, recent results in theory and experiments on fusion devices (both Inertial Fusion and Magnetic Confinement) will be presented. The conference will include a plenary session, featured sessions, and round-table discussions with participation of internationally acknowledged experts. Also on plans is the award ceremony of The Nuclear Fusion Prize.

The event is attended by representatives of the world scientific community, governmental officials (for nuclear power regulation and development), world’s largest utilities, ROSATOM’s companies, officers of the IAEA, as well as Russian and international journalists.

Sessions on Core Turbulence, Pedestal Physics, Transport & MHD and special meeting on ITER Technology are part of the extensive conference program. As part of this program, the conference gives opportunities to many postgraduate and PhD students to present their research to a wide audience. For the entire program and further details, please refer to the conference booklet and the conference website
