PhDiaFusion2025 - 6th Summer School of Plasma Diagnostics

The forthcoming 6th PhDiaFusion 2025 Summer School of plasma diagnostics will take place on 9-13 of June 2025 in the Niepołomice Royal Castle close to Krakow, Poland. It is organized jointly by the Institute of Nuclear Physics Polish Academy of Sciences (IFJ PAN) and the Institute for Magnetic Fusion Research (IRFM, CEA Cadarache)

The 6th edition of the School will cover innovative plasma diagnostic solutions towards a fusion reactor, with a focus on the synergy between public and private initiatives. The scientific topics include:

•         challenges of measurement in fusion reactors,

•         basic diagnostic concepts and technologies,

•         modelling & synthetic diagnostics,

•         machine learning, reconstruction methods, data processing and validation,

•         plasma real-time control.

The School can be an excellent platform for meeting and exchanging views between people implementing the thermonuclear fusion program in private institutions and young students working on these issues in scientific institutes. It is addressed to bachelor, master, PhD students and their tutors, as well as young researchers working in the field of plasma physics & diagnostics. The selected papers will be, after a reviewing process, published in a special issue of Journal of Fusion Energy, Springer.
