  • Plasma Physics Postdoc - detachment and edge physics

Aalto University in Helsinki is inviting applications for one PhD position and one post-doctoral position in the field of edge-plasma physics.

The postdoc position involves analysing experimental data from the JET and DIII-D tokamaks, and interpreting these data using existing plasma edge codes, such as SOLPS-ITER and EIRENE. The candidate is expected to participate in and lead experiments at JET and DIII-D, as well as provide diagnostic and edge simulation support for other ongoing experiments. The candidate is expected to publish peer-reviewed articles, as well as present results at external conferences. In addition, development and implementation of new physics tools in existing codes is strongly desired.
