"The future of energy lies in mastering the power of fusion—controlling the stars here on Earth."

This quote perfectly encapsulates the amazing experience I had during my training in tokamak fusion reactor control!

I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a training program on controlling tokamak fusion reactors, and it was a game-changer for my studies! Supported by FuseNet, this experience opened my eyes to the cutting-edge technologies and strategies used to manage plasma in fusion reactors.

I dived into the fascinating world of magnetic equilibrium, learning how to control plasma position and current with linear controllers. It was amazing to see how real-time equilibrium reconstruction works to keep everything in balance during operations!

I learned about controlling plasma evolution, like core temperature and particle density. We also tackled MHD phenomena like NTMs and ELMs, which can disrupt the plasma—discovering methods to suppress them was both challenging and exciting!

A real highlight was visiting the TCV tokamak and seeing control systems in action. Understanding the technology behind real-time computing and networks used in tokamaks was mind-blowing.

We explored cutting-edge topics like disruption avoidance and the potential of machine learning in tokamak operations—what an exciting look into the future!

This training was a perfect blend of theory and hands-on learning, and I left with a deeper understanding of fusion reactor control. It’s clear to me now how important these technologies are for the future Fusion Reactors, and I can’t wait to apply these new insights in my studies and career.

For anyone interested in fusion energy, I highly recommend jumping into opportunities like this. It’s an experience you won’t forget!
