I’m a Master's student nearing the end of my academic journey, and I decided to
attend IIS2025 to learn more about integrated modeling for fusion plasmas. I
found the topic extremely interesting, even though some of the lectures were a
bit challenging to follow, as I’m still relatively new to this field.

Nonetheless, I came to understand the crucial role of integrated modeling as a
supporting tool for analyzing physical processes in tokamaks and for predicting
plasma behavior to improve control strategies. The visit to ITER was particularly
impressive—seeing such a massive and important project under construction
really reinforced my motivation to pursue studies in this area. I look forward to
seeing this “big boy” completed one day!

Most importantly, this experience allowed me to connect with many incredible
people I met during the course. I encountered individuals from a wide variety of
backgrounds, but what struck me most was that all of them were deeply
motivated and passionate, driven by a genuine interest in research in this field. I
truly needed an experience like this to witness the other side of the fusion world,
made up of exceptional, experienced, and highly knowledgeable people who are
wholeheartedly dedicated to studying and advancing this area of science.
