The 3rd International Summer School on the Physics of Plasma-Surface Interactions (SSPSI2018) will be organized by the National Research Nuclear University MEPhI (Moscow Engineering and Physics Institute) in Moscow, July, 16-20.
The main goal of the school is to provide the opportunity for graduate students, postgraduate fellows, and young researchers to meet and interact with leading scientists from complex and diverse field of plasma-surface interactions. The school’s format includes lectures given by leading scientists, talks and posters presented by participants, as well as discussions on the most vibrant topics of the field.
The main topics of the school are:
- elementary processes at the plasma-material interface
- material erosion, migration, mixing, and dust formation
- plasma interaction with liquid metals
- solid and liquid plasma facing components for fusion devices
- plasma assisted surface modification for technological applications
Among the invited lecturers are - Prof. Richard Pitts (ITER) , Prof. Tetsuo Tanabe (Japan), Prof. Kai Nordlund (Finland), Prof. Andrej Kukushkin (Russia), and others.
The participants will be awarded the international participation certificates.
Registration and submission of abstracts is now open and ends on June, 4th.
Students from universities that are FuseNet members who are interested in the event, can apply to FuseNet for funding through this link.
Those who wish to participate are encouraged to register in advance since the preparation of the visa invoice may take some time.
