PlasmaPy is a community-developed and community-driven free and open source Python package that provides common functionality required for plasma physics in a single, reliable codebase. The goal of the PlasmaPy Project is to foster the creation of an open source Python ecosystem for plasma research and education. The PlasmaPy package contains core functionality for this software ecosystem, while affiliated packages will contain more specialized functionality. The PlasmaPy website contains documentation for the current version, as well as examples to try out.
