DEMO Plant System Design Devision Head

The DEMO Plant System Design Division (PSDD) in the DEMO Central Team (DCT) develops feasible architectures for the DEMO plant and its critical systems.

The holder of this post is responsible for the successful completion of the PSDD missions and objectives. He/she leads a group of experienced individuals with strong technical skills and competences in the areas needed, and guides/coordinates the systems design activities undertaken by the EU fusion laboratories.

The applicant will ideally already have a work contract with a EUROfusion Beneficiary and will be seconded to the EUROfusion Programme Management Unit (PMU) in Garching. Otherwise, she/he will have to secure a work contract with one of the Beneficiaries.

> University Master degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline
> Minimum 10 years of experience in managing the delivery of complex projects in a technical field
> Minimum 10 years of experience on design and construction of fusion devices
> Good appreciation of nuclear requirements in the design and safety of a fusion device
> Broad understanding of design, qualification, manufacture, test, inspect, operate and related engineering
processes, practices, current standards and industry best-practice is essential
> Broad knowledge of system engineering is essential
