The PlasmaSurf Summer Course, organized by the Instituto de Plasmas e Fusão Nuclear, took place from July 16th to July 21st, 2023, and it proved to be an enriching educational experience. It was an excellent summer school with numerous interesting lectures and an exceptional accompanying program.

The main program was courses ranging from the fundamentals of plasma physics to various applications and hands-on experiments in plasma physics. The entire program was well-balanced, taking into account the different levels of knowledge among the participants. Accordingly, lectures typically started with fundamental concepts and gradually moved into more advanced subject matter.

Every afternoon, after the lecture sessions, there was an accompanying program consisting of a diverse range of sports activities, from surfing and kayaking to rock climbing. This served as a fantastic way to unwind after a demanding day of lectures and provided a perfect opportunity for networking with fellow participants. The international environment was very inspiring and encouraged long and fruitful discussions.

The entire summer school provided an excellent opportunity to meet interesting people, both students and researchers. We had the chance to get to know the individual lecturers from IPFN not only during lectures but also at the closing reception hosted by IPFN. Here, they also introduced us to the facilities of Instituto Superior Técnico, including a visit to the ISTTOK tokamak.

In summary, PlasmaSurf was an extraordinary and unique experience. I highly recommend it, especially for its well-balanced informative lectures and accompanying program. In conclusion, I would like to express my gratitude to IPFN and FuseNet for their organization and financial support.
